 We recognize that caregiving is a labor of love. However, even the most dedicated caregivers need time to rest and recharge. Our Respite Care Services offer reliable short-term relief, allowing family caregivers to take a well-deserved break. This ensures that their loved ones receive continuous, attentive, and high-quality support in a familiar and comfortable environment, giving caregivers the peace of mind they need.

Respite care offers temporary assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who require daily support. It is beneficial for families and unpaid caregivers who need time away to focus on self-care, run errands, or tend to other responsibilities. This service is available through the Community Integration and Habilitation (CIH) Waiver and the Family Support (FS) Waiver, depending on the individual's eligibility. 

Respite care at 4 Walls For All is flexible and thoroughly tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Services may include:

• Daily Living Support: Help with grooming, dressing, toileting, hygiene, and mobility.
• Meal Assistance: Preparing and serving meals based on dietary needs, along with feeding support if required.
• Medication Support: Administering medications by trained personnel following all safety protocols.
• Community Engagement Opportunities: Enjoyable social outings and leisure activities for individuals to participate in.
• Monitoring and Supervision: Providing a safe and supportive presence while caregivers are away.
• One-on-One or Small Group Care Delivered based on the individual’s preferences and approved plan. 

To maintain integrity and avoid conflicts of interest, respite care must be provided by someone other than the individual’s primary caregiver or guardian. At 4 Walls For All, respite services are delivered by a team of trained and qualified Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). These professionals are committed to providing respectful and person-centered care, ensuring you can trust that your loved one is in good hands.

Respite support can be delivered in a variety of locations to meet the needs and comfort of the individual, including:

• Their own home
• The DSP’s or respite worker’s home (if approved)
• Licensed respite or group care homes
• DDR-certified day programs or community-based centers
• Approved camp or recreational settings.
